Homemade Holidays/Advent Calendar

Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I thought that it would be fun to make an Advent Calendar to build up the anticipation with my kids! My oldest son helped me on this one. He even made the little countdown thing that you move from pocket to pocket. He even sewed it by hand-with my guidance of course. This Advent Calendar is not perfect, but it's homemade with love. It was a family activity making it, and it will be a family tradition for years to come using it to countdown the days to Christmas. I got the inspiration to make this after seeing this post HERE at a site called DomesticCents.com. She shows pictures, and directions on how to make these Advent Calendar's. So if your interested in making one, go check it out! Mine looks a lot different than hers, because I made mine different- to make it my own, but I got the general idea from reading her post. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at tipsfromamomof3 @ yahoo (dot) com. Do you have any ideas, tips, comments, or anything that you'd like to share?--If so please leave a comment! Come on, don't be shy! Your comments are my fuel!

  1. Amy, I'm glad you enjoyed my Advent Calendar post. I'm not an excellent seamstress, but mine was also made with love. I think yours is adorable!
