This week we are making homemade Apple Pie! This was a lot of fun!
First we read the book, Amelia Bedelia's First Apple Pie. The kids loved the book! On the very last page of the book was a recipe for "Apple Pie". So we decided to make our first Homemade Apple Pie! This is the perfect book to read on an Autumn day....
Amelia Bedelia is sure she will love everything about autumn.
The colorful trees
Jumping in the leaves
Apples, apples, apples
Warm apple pie
Fun family projects
Amelia Bedelia can't wait. What could be better? Autumn! Hooray for apples and fall!

First we made the dough, then we gathered it and made two balls. Then you shape it into two flat, circular disk; and wrap each disk separately in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour.
After the long awaited hour, they finally got to roll the dough out into two circles about 10 inches in diameter. I think that this was their favorite part of making the apple pie!
Then, after we put one of the dough disk into the pie pan, they took turns adding the apple mixture!
Here they are "pinching" the top and bottom crusts together at the edge of the pan.
Before the pie went into the oven.
Finally, the pie is done, and cooled! They were so proud of their apple pie! Now it's Ready to eat! And of course we had vanilla ice cream to go with our Homemade apple pie! Yummy!
