Target 101

You can save a lot of money shopping at Target! Here are some of the Best tips to help you to save money at Target!

You can go here to find a Target store near you. Go here to view the weekly ad.

Target's Corporate Coupon Policy

Target has a corporate coupon policy here. Be sure to print out Target's corporate coupon policy! Carry it with you when you shop at Target. If a cashier or manager gives you any problems-just pull it out and stick up for yourself! I would also recommend writing down corporates phone number on it after you print it out - (800) 440-0680. You can call corporate on the spot if a cashier or manager is giving you problems about their coupon policy, and they could possibly resolve the issue on the spot.

Manufacturer Coupons & Store Coupons

Target will accept manufacturer coupons, including printable coupons at face value only. Target DOES NOT Double Coupons.

You can also go here to view Target's FAQ about printable coupons.

Target Store Coupons

At Target you can stack (or combine) a Target Store Coupon with a Manufacturer coupon to maximize your savings! This means that Target will accept one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per item, unless otherwise stated.

There are several ways to get Target coupons:

  1. You can print Target coupons at the Target Website Here.
  2. Target Store coupons can also be found in Sunday coupon inserts, postal mailers, and some magazine's.
Coupon Tips For Target

*If a Target coupon will not scan, kindly ask the cashier if he/she can manually type in the numbers. Usually they will & then the coupon will go through.

*On some Target coupons, it states 1 per transaction. This would mean that you'd have to separate transactions if you want to use more than one. Whenever I approach the checkout lane, I kindly tell the cashier that I have several coupons, and would she like me to split up the transactions or could she do it all in 1 transaction. 90% of the time the cashier tells me that she can do it all in 1 transaction. But it's always best to ask first!

*Always hand over all of your manufacturer coupons first, then the Target coupons to avoid any beeps. This doesn't always work, but it is something that I have made a habit of doing.

Target Mobile Coupons

Target Mobile Coupons are coupons that can be sent to your mobile phone, to be used for in-store purchases at checkout. You can pull them up on your mobile phone, and the cashier will actually scan the bar code right on your phone. You can Go Here to Sign Up for Target Mobile Coupons. These coupons are sent out twice per month in most cases. Target Mobile Coupons can only be used once. You can Stack a Target Mobile Coupon with a Manufacturer coupon. However you can not stack a Target store coupon with a mobile coupon, you will need to choose one or the other. In order to receive Target Mobile Coupons you will need an Internet capable phone, and keep in mind that text messaging and data charges will apply depending on your mobile phone plan.

Shopkick

Shopkick is a free downloadable application for iPhone or Android.  You can Go Here for more info. Basically, you can earn points called "kickbutts" for anything from entering the store to scanning select bar codes. You can redeem them for different rewards such as Target Gift Cards. You will also get scannable Target Coupons that can be used at checkout. Once you download the app, add Target to your faves list, and once you do, it is quick and easy to redeem your coupons. Wait until you are at the Target store to register to use the coupons-they will expire 12 hours after tapping the word "use". At the register tap the word "use" and then a bar code will come up for the cashier to scan!

Gift Card Promotions

Target often does Gift Card Deals. For instance the deal will be Buy 2 of this product & get a $5 Target gift card. When you use coupons on these items, most of the time you'll end up with very cheap, and sometimes Free products. And you can roll these deals over and over using the gift card!

*I also recommend scanning items at the convenient price check scanner machines. If it is a product that is on a gift card deal it will state that when you scan it. This also comes in handy with clearance products and if you ever need to know the price on an item.

Price Cuts

Look for yellow price cut sign throughout the store when you are shopping. These temporary price cuts can run anywhere from 3-6 weeks before returning to the full price. Match manufacturer and or store coupons with these price cuts and you could score some awesome deals!

Trial and Travel Size Items

Target  has an extensive trial size section. If you have a coupon for $1 off ANY (for instance) and it is available in trial size, then you'll be able to get the item Free. Make sure to read all the small print on the coupon. If it says no trial sizes then it won't work. It will only work if the coupon  says "ANY". If the coupon exceeds the amount of the product, then the cashier will need to manually adjust down the amount of the coupon.

Target will not allow overages from any coupon!

Clearance

Clearance is also popular at Target! Make sure to look for the red or orange clearance stickers!  If you combine a manufacturer, Target, or both coupons to these deals- you'll often be able to get some very inexpensive or Free products!

Price Matching

Target also does Price Matching! Go Here for all of the details about Price Matching at Target, and note that certain exclusions apply.

If you bring in a store ad, Target will match that store's price. For example, If Meijer has Kellogg's cereal on sale, just bring in the Meijer store ad & Target will give you the same price!  You will need to go to the Customer Service desk to checkout if you are price matching. Make sure to show the ad and tell the cashier that you are price matching before he/she scans the item.

You can combine manufacturer, and Target coupons for even more savings when price matching!
Manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made. Target coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitors price is still lower after the Target coupon is applied, then they will do the price match.

Using this technique you could be able to get some Great deals! And it will save you time from having to run to several different stores!
