By developing a system and making yourself a coupon organizer, you'll find it much easier to find the coupons that you need to help to save money on groceries and products that you buy! It might take some time to set up and figure out what works best for you initially, but after you have developed a system, you will just need to maintain it. I tried several different methods that didn’t work for me, the coupon binder method has worked best for me. First I tried the envelope method- label envelopes by category and then I put them in a plastic shoe box sized tub. It didn’t work for me because I spent a lot of time digging through trying to find the coupons I needed and I didn’t like carrying a big tub into the grocery store with me. Then I tried the No-clip method. When I received inserts, I labeled them with the date & insert name (10/11 SS) and then I filed them in a file type box. Then before I went to the store I only clipped the coupons that I needed. This didn’t work for me because I missed out on clearance finds, and unadvertised deals. This method might work good for someone that is pressed on time.
This is the method that has worked best for me!

This is the method that has worked best for me!
Clipping coupons:
*Try to pick the same day every week to clip your coupons. I usually try to clip my coupons as early in the week as possible, typically on Sunday or Monday. I usually try to clip my coupons in the evening after the kids go to bed, while I’m watching tv. This way it does not seem as tedious.
*Clip out every single coupon. Only discard the coupons of items that you would not buy even if they were Free. If you only clip out the coupons that you use it takes more time to think about it, and if that item is on sale, you might wish later that you had it. Its safest to clip all coupons!
When I was a Beginner I started out a standard vinyl 3-ring binder. I also purchased the cheapest paper dividers that I could find! I learned the hard way! I grew out of the binder quickly, and the paper dividers were torn quickly! Here are some tips for your coupon binder!
1. I would highly recommend getting a binder that is at least 2-3". Try to find a binder that zippers shut so that your coupons don’t fall out! And one with a handle makes it a lot easier to carry into the store with you! I also really like the pouch on mine to keep my calculator, and scissors easily accessible.
2. Consider spending a few extra dollars on purchasing the dividers that are plastic! The paper ones rip so easily, it will save you money and hassles in the long run! I also really like the ones that have pockets, that way I can stick extra coupons in the pocket if I need to!
3. Purchase Baseball card plastic holders to hold the coupons! You can find these very inexpensive at Wal-mart or Target. They are located at the front of the store near the Poke-mon cards & such!
4.You can sort your different sections, divided by the dividers by alphabetical order, by the way your grocery store is set up, by product name, or by expiration date. I set up mine according to the way my store is set up. Some of my sections are Candy/Snacks, Baking goods, Breakfast items/cereal/fruit snacks/breakfast bars, Canned goods/Jarred/Pasta/Rice/Breads, Boxed items/condiments/Beverages, Diary products/biscuits/cookies/refrigerated, Meats, Frozen, Beauty/Hygiene, oral care, soaps, deodorants, Cleaners/Fragrances, Medicines/Vitamins, Paper Products, Other Misc. And Dog. I’d recommend setting this up to what will work best for you!

Now that you have all your coupons organized you’ll be able to save more money!
