Thrifty Tip Tuesday : Make money on Free Magazine's!

Every week, I get several Free magazine's in my mailbox! The first thing that I always do is flip through them to look for any coupons. Then I'll read the articles that I am interested in. After I am finished reading them, I end up with a big stack of magazine's! I usually keep them in a crate and when the crate is full, I bring the magazine's to Half Price Books!


Half price books pays me for my magazine's that I get Free! They do not give a lot of money, I usually only make a couple dollars a month, but in my family - every penny counts! I use the money to purchase other books or magazine's, or I take the cash with me - then head to CVS, or Walgreens to get the most out of my Free money!

Easy Taco Dip Recipe- My Favorite!

This is one of my favorite recipes for an easy and inexpensive appetizer for any kind of party, special occasion, or get together! This is so delicious and it is always a hit!

Ingredients:

* 3 pkg. of cream cheese (for a healthier version use reduced or fat free)
* 1 jar of chunky salsa
* 1 pkg. of shredded mild cheddar cheese (for a healthier version use fat free cheese)
* 1 head of lettuce
* Tortilla chips for dipping
* Sm. tomato & olives (optional)

Directions:

1. First soften the cream cheese in the microwave slightly, about 30 seconds.
2. Then in a large bowl with a mixer, pour in cream cheese & salsa and mix until well blended.
3. Form the mixture into a ball on a large plate, and refrigerate overnight to set or for several hours.
4. Serve topped with shredded lettuce, cheese, chopped tomato and olive.
5. Put the tortilla chips around the dip and enjoy!

This dip is yummy and so easy to make! I have made it for many occasions & parties and everyone always loves it!

Muffin Tin Monday!

It's Monday again already & that means it's time for Muffin Tin Monday! My kids always look forward to Monday's because they love eating their meal out of muffin cups, or muffin tins!
This week there was no theme, and my fridge is overflowing with Easter leftovers, so this is what we had ....

*Ham - leftover from Easter yesterday
*Bugs on a Log - celery sticks with peanut butter & raisins
*Hard boiled egg - that the kids dyed the other day
*Carrots
*Strawberries
*Grapes
*Fruit dip for dipping
*Easter cupcake for desert
*Caprisun to drink

Mailbox Monday - Freebies 4/5!

This week was a pretty good Freebies week in my mailbox, so I had to share!

This week I got Free magazine's, a Free pack of 5 React gum, Free Nestle coffee sticks, Free diapers (that I'll give to my sis b/c I don't have a baby), Free Tide laundry soap, tons of coupons including one for a Free bottle of Coffee-mate creamer & more!


To get the coupon for a Free bottle of Coffee-mate creamer - I just emailed the company Here and told them how much I loved their product and in return they mailed me a coupon for a Free bottle!
